Trekking name : <Introductory course ➁> Punakha Winter trekking
trekking days : two nights and three days
trekking area : the western
trek starting point : Thimphu northern
trek end point : Punakha northern
highest altitude : 3,400m
Minimum Altitude : 2,250m
rooms optimal time : March-May, September-November
Course point : A simple short trek from western capital Thimphu to Punaka, the former ‘winter capital’. The width of the route’s elevation is approximately 1,000m or less, and the slope is gentle. Follow the old road from Thimphu to Punakha and pass through the village, forest and rice fields. Starting from the north of Thimphu, you can see the Pajodin temple on the mountain if the weather is fine. Along the way, you will see some temples and cross the Sinchura Pass. Due to the low altitude and warm climate, this course can be conducted relatively year-round, but the best time is between March and May and September and November. It is a pleasant and enjoyable content, so if you’re sightseeing, it’s a great choice for anyone who says “Tekking too, so it’s also trekking.”
